MASSENA -- A Massena woman was jailed on a felony drug charge for allegedly being found with cocaine after getting arrested for shoplifting.
Rachel E. Riley, 24, of 2224 State Rte. 420 is charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. She is also facing one count each of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and petit larceny, both misdemeanors.
According to court documents, Riley was arrested at 3:46 p.m. Sunday after stealing two coats from Tractor Supply. Police searched her and in her purse allegedly found a half gram of cocaine and a Suboxone strip.
She was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald Sharlow and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.
