Massena woman charged with two felonies for allegedly forging $11,500 in checks

MASSENA -- A 45-year-old Massena woman is facing two felonies for allegedly forging $11,500 in checks.

Michele E. Reese of Econo Lodge, State Rte. 37, was arrested by village police at 11:58 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and third-degree grand larceny.

She allegedly cashed two checks on a Seacomm Federal Credit Union account belonging to Welden Peterson. One check was for $5,000 and the other for $6,500.

Reese was arraigned in Massena Village Court before Justice Gerald Sharlow and released with orders to re-appear on April 8.
