MASSENA -- A Massena woman was charged with two felony driving while intoxicated counts and leaving the scene of an accident Sunday.
Tawnda L. Curtis, 39, was stopped by St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies at 1:57 a.m. Sunday along County Rt. 42 shortly after a property damage accident on Willow Street Extension.
Deputies determined her blood alcohol level to be at .17 percent, more than twice the threshold for a DWI charge. That amounted to a felony charge in light of a DWI conviction in July 2006.
Deputies also charged her with having no distinctive license plate on the front of her vehicle.
Massena policed charged her with leaving the scene of an accident
Curtis was arraigned before Massena Town Justice Sharlow and released to the supervision of probation authorities.
