MASSENA -- Village police on Friday charged a Massena woman with a court order stemming from her involvement with 46 marijuana plants allegedly discovered when police were recovering a stolen boat earlier in the month.
Lisa M. Charleston, 43, of 22 Dana St. is charged with single misdemeanor counts of growing cannabis, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree criminal contempt, police said.
On June 2, police recovered a stolen boat from Charleston’s address and in the process discovered 46 marijuana plants, which lead to multiple charges filed against Seth Moyer, 39.
Charleston was also charged with possessing the plants and child endangerment because her 5-year-old son was at the address when it happened, court documents state.
She is charged with contempt because she allegedly violated a St. Lawrence County Family Court order specifically prohibiting her from using or possessing marijuana around the child.
Charleston was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald Sharlow and released on her own recognizance, police said.
