MASSENA – A Massena woman was arrested following an investigation that revealed she received $1,023 in food stamp benefits that she was not entitled to, according to the St. Lawrence County sheriff’s department.
Crystal L. Durocher, 42, was charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, officers said.
She allegedly submitted a food stamp benefits application/recertification with the Department of Social Services that contained false information.
The benefits were reportedly paid to Durocher from Jan. 1 through July 31 of last year.
Police did not list her status.
