MASSENA -- The Town Council is planning an open house at Massena International Airport Aug. 27, but it is contingent upon approval from the Transportation Safety Administration.
The Federal Aviation Administration has given the nod, Highway Superintendent Frank Diagostino said.
“We still need approval from the TSA and we’ve got to talk about that contract,” Councilman Tom Miller said.
The town is trying to re-negotiate a lease deal with the TSA. They rent and pay for 280 square feet of office space, but restrict a total of 1,600 square feet, which Councilman Samuel Carbone says is worth more like $35,000.
“They might want their lease first,” Carbone said.
