MASSENA -- New York State Retirement System and worker's compensation payments are projected to go down next year. If the actual numbers meet the estimates, it will save the Village of Massena $246,308, Village Treasurer Julie Sharlow told the Board of Trustees on Tuesday night.
Her report says the employee retirement system (ERS) contribution is expected to go down $59,254. It says the police and fire retirement system (PFRS) payment should drop $17,099. That is based on salary projections for the fiscal year Apr. 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015.
Sharlow's report says the worker's compensation payment will go down by $169,955 from last year. She said their last payment was $319,916.
