MASSENA -- The village saw a drop in sales tax received from the county compared to the same time last year, but their projections show them on track to garner an amount close to what’s in the budget.
On Tuesday, Village Treasurer Julie Sharlow told the trustees they received $393,154 this month, compared to $414,325 last year.
Year-to-date, the village has taken in $1,282,467 compared to $1,337,022 through the same time last year, Sharlow said. That’s a drop of $54,555 or 4.08 percent, she said.
Projecting this forward through the fourth quarter, the village is on track to take in $1,712,233 for the fiscal year. They budgeted $1,694,450, Sharlow said.
