MASSENA -- The village board on Tuesday voted 3-1 to hire Chad Fish as a Department of Public Works motor equipment operator.
The dissenting vote was Trustee Francis Carvel, who has recently cast several votes against motions to appoint or canvas for DPW personnel.
DPW Superintendent Hassan Fayad said the hire will replace a retiree and he expects another vacancy.
“I believe there’s rumblings now of another person going in the coming months,” he said.
