MASSENA -- The Development Authority of the North Country will take over the village housing office and oversee grant administration services, the village board voted on Tuesday.
They will spend $14,000 on this, their motion says.
Mayor Tim Currier said DANC overseeing the housing office could enable them to get more grants to help the needy.
“A number of grant programs are available that will enable us to improve the standard of living for our low to moderate income residents,” he said in April. “These programs spur economic development, improve neighborhoods, improve the community.”
The motion is part of one of Currier’s budget plans to consolidate the code, housing and building offices.
