MASSENA -- The village board will recognize Massena Red Raiders wrestler Nolan Terrance, the NYSPHSAA Division 1 wrestling champion in the 285-pound class.
They will give a proclamation at their March 17 meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Hall’s second floor boardroom.
The title contest saw Terrance beat Edwin Rubio of Section 11’s John Glenn School in double-overtime in Albany. It was the 104th win of his high school career, which he began in eighth grade.
The 285-pound crown is the first in Massena wrestling history.
Prior to that, he bested Irondequoit’s Cameron Rohr 1-0 in the semi-final round in Albany.
