MASSENA — The village passed an independent financial audit with flying colors, according to Carl Seyfarth of Seyfarth and Seyfarth CPAs.
“I thought the audit went really really well,” he said. “It was well organized, put together. I don’t think we had any adjustments … no new findings.
“If we’re not having any adjustments, that probably means you’re getting accurate information throughout the year and that’s pretty important.”
He said he was glad to see they took action on some suggestions from prior years.
“Deputy treasurer coming more into internal controls, off-site backups coming into place. You’ve made a lot of progress in the last year,” Seyfarth said. “Keep up the good work.”
The audit covered the fiscal year that ended May 31.
