MASSENA -- The village board made Village Clerk Patty Dumas’ April 30 retirement official, also naming a successor to her unexpired term.
Monique Chatland will assume Dumas’ duties starting May 1.
“Monique brings 10 years of experience” in various village departments, Mayor Tim Currier said. “I wish you great success in your duties.”
“Patty, you’ve served this community with distinction,” Currier said. “Village clerk is a challenging job … keeping various mayors you’ve worked under on task is a challenging job.
“You always have the best interest of the taxpayers in mind.”
The village clerk is appointed every two years.
