MASSENA -- The Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Tuesday night to name October anti-bullying awareness month.
The resolution is part of a statewide effort from Assemblyman John McDonald II of the 108th district.
The resolution says 160,000 children nationwide refuse to go to school each day because of dreading bullying and cyber-bullying. The document also notes a need for awareness due to heightened risk of teenage suicide that can stem from bullying.
