MASSENA -- The village board on Tuesday okayed promoting an investigator to sergeant.
Inv. Jordan Jenks will fill a vacancy created when Sgt. Ken LaBarge retired in February.
Chief Mark LaBrake recommended him “based on his knowledge of the job, his integrity” and civil service test score.
The change is effective July 1.
LaBrake said he continues to canvas for a new patrolman. He said he did four interviews this week and expects more next week.
His is trying to replace Ptl. Tyler Condlin, who the board voted to terminate in May.
