MASSENA -- Village Trustee Albert Deshaies wants the village board’s street committee to consider barring left turns from Bowers Street and Harrowgate Commons onto Main Street.
“We’ve got to do something about that intersection,” he said, adding that he recently witnessed a two-car collision there he believes to be caused by a car turning left into the busy intersection.
“You’d have to go around the block, I realize that,” Deshaies said.
Trustee Tim Ahlfeld said the board could consider restricting left turns only during the busier daylight hours and allowing it at night.
“I’ll pull our incidents and see how many accidents we’ve had there in the last two years,” Police Chief Mark LaBrake said.
