MASSENA -- Two Massena teens are jailed after being accused of breaking into an apartment and attacking one of the occupants.
On Monday morning, police charged Skyler L. Mitchell, 19, of 192 Center St. Apt. 2, and Dillon M. LaTray, 19, of 7 Middlebury Ave., with one count each of second-degree burglary, second-degree menacing and third-degree assault. Mitchell was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.
According to Massena court officials, the two are accused of breaking into 2 Willow St. Apt. 302 and dragging out an occupant. They brandished what investigators say was a BB gun that resembled a pistol. Court officials said the suspects kicked and stomped the victim in the face and struck him in the face with the BB gun, causing injuries.
LaTray was charged at 5:58 a.m. Monday at the police station. Mitchell was charged at 6:37 a.m. the same day at his residence.
They were arraigned in Massena court by judge Eric Gustafson and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond each.
