MASSENA -- A Massena man faces charges after failing to register as a sex offender, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Raymond C. Miller, 44, of Trippany Road, was charged with failure to register as a sex offender Jan. 13 following an incident that occurred in November.
Deputies say Miller, a convicted level 3 sex offender, accessed a social media site he was restricted from using, by using an alias to engage in conversation and send lewd photos.
Deputies say Miller failed to register and verify the account and user identification with the Department of Criminal Justice as required by law.
Miller was arraigned in the Town of Potsdam Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail without bail.
Deputies also charged Maxine M. Jerome, of Ogdensburg, with obstructing governmental administration.
Deputies say Jerome was at the Ogdensburg Police Department and refused to turn over electronic evidence that she knew to be pertinent to the Miller investigation.
She was released on an appearance ticket.
