OGDENSBURG -- Seana Gambill, a Massena Central School senior won first place in the Ogdensburg Free Academy Fall Talent Show, despite six entries from four rival high schools.

“When Seana walked into the auditorium, she probably didn’t know a soul,” said OFA Key Club Advisor James E. Reagen. “But after she started singing John Legend’s timeless rendition of ‘All of Me,’ the Massena senior dominated the George Hall Auditorium, prompting Ogdensburg fans to light up their phones in salute to her performance.”

A resident of Hogansburg at the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation, Seana recently participated in the final round of the National Fine Arts Festival in California after earning the right to perform at the New York State Youth Fine Arts Festival in Syracuse.

The Madrid-Waddington duo of guitar playing Tyler Allen and Brianna Hammond captured second place.

Third place went to MacKenzie Spicer, a ninth grader from OFA who performed the cup song.

In the elementary division, Grant Putman, a sixth grader from Kennedy Elementary in Ogdensburg danced his way to first place with a dance to the tune “Feel It Still.”

Lily Damon, a third grader from Lisbon Central School, took second place by singing “Hallelujah” while accompanying herself on the ukelele.

Katie Wilson, a third grader from Kennedy School, took third place with her dance to the song “Thunder” by Imagine Dragons.

“The Ogdensburg Free Academy Key Club’s Fall Talent Show has traditionally featured some of the North Country’s most talented young people,” said Key Club President Maria Pelusi. “We’re very pleased that once again some of the region’s top teenage talent from communities like Massena, Madrid-Waddington and Lisbon shared trophies with Ogdensburg’s top performers.

“Our talent show provided a real preview of some of St. Lawrence County’s emerging musical performers,” Pelusi said.

The show was emceed by OFA Seniors Maria Pelusi and Brandon Osier.

Performers were overseen by Anton Skamperle who organizeds them and led them on and off stage.
