MASSENA -- The Massena Central school board president has resigned.
John Boyce submitted a resignation letter that says he would leave his post as of June 30.
“The reason for this resignation is due to increased commitments of work and lack of hours in the day,” Boyce wrote in his letter. “Many things have been accomplished and I believe the district is in a good place.
He has been absent from several recent school board meetings.
“I would say I think John did an excellent job as our president. He spoke well for us, stood up for us when the time came. I think we’ll miss him.”
The board voted 6-0 to accept the resignation. In addition to Boyce, trustees Ron Faucher and Jason Premo were not at the meeting.
