MASSENA -- The Massena Central School District fared well in an external audit of their books.
“It went really, really well this year. I don’t think you had any adjustments or significant changes,” auditor Carl Seyfarth of Seyfarth and Seyfarth CPAs told the board at their Oct. 19 meeting. “We did agree with your financial statements. You did a really nice job.”
Seyfarth said their fund balance is over what the state says it should be, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
“Fund balance is still over required amounts … you guys are working on getting it down … it’s better to have too much money than too little,” Seyfarth said.
