MASSENA -- The Massena Board of Education picked Patrick Brady as the new superintendent of schools.

Brady is currently the Potsdam Central superintendent.

Massena school board Vice President Ron Faucher sent an email to district staff and superintendent search committee members on Friday morning stating that the board will make a formal announcement at their Feb. 5 meeting. Faucher says he anticipates Brady to begin his new duties on July 1.

Brady was in a meeting and not able to immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

Potsdam school board President Wade Davis did not immediately return a request for comment.

Faucher’s email in its entirety:

“On behalf of the Massena Board of Education, I am very pleased to inform you that on January 13, 2015, the Board agreed to offer Mr. Patrick Brady the position as our new Superintendent of Schools. Pending the successful negotiation of a contract, the Board anticipates making a formal appointment at its meeting on February 5, 2015. It is anticipated that Mr. Brady will begin as our new superintendent on July 1, 2015.

The Board would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in this selection process. We sincerely appreciate the efforts of all committee members who provided input to the Board that was so instrumental in our final decision. Thank you, again, for your help and for your anticipate support of our new superintendent.”
