Massena school board approves hiring of teachers and substitutes

MASSENA -- The Massena Central Board of Education on Thursday approved hiring teachers and substitutes, and okayed resignations and a retirement.

The board appointed the following teachers, listed below with their name, subject or area of specialty, building, and salary:

• Jennifer Hannah-Albon, special education, Nightengale, $46,282

• Chrstine Milhausen, special education, Jefferson, $44,864

• Megan Morley, elementary, Nightengale, $40,455 (pending certification)

• Katherine Lomanto, elementary, Jefferson, $39,424

• Meagan Fontanes, art, high school, $39,424 (pending certification and fingerprinting)

• Esther Barnum, music, Jefferson, $41,770

• Zachery Marcellus, physical education, junior high, $39,424

• Ann Simpson, teaching assistant, Madison, $32,321

• Amy Perry, teaching assistant, junior high, $32,321 (pending certification)

• Ronald Aldridge Jr., custodian, Nightengale, $38,155

The board approved the following substitutes:

• Michelle Revai, RN substitute, district-wide, $100 per day

• Jeanette Denesha, support staff substitute, district-wide, $9.70 per hour

• Jordan Helmer, long-term guidance counselor substitute (Aug. 31 through Feb. 28, 2018), $120 per day

The board approved leaves of absence, resignations and retirements:

• Megan Castell, psychologist, district-wide, medical leave Aug. 31 to Oct. 10

• Errolynn Bradley, Jefferson elementary teacher, resignation effective June 30

• Allison Holiday, Madison teaching assistance, resignation effective June 30

• Darryl Delosh, district groundskeeper, retirement effective June 27

The board also granted final tenure, effective Sept. 1, to Madison elementary teacher Jennifer Earl and Nightengale special education teacher Jarilyn Nichols.
