MASSENA -- The Board of Education unanimously accepted a resignation Monday from Nightengale Elementary principal Shannon Jordan effective Oct. 13.
Interim Superintendent William Crist said the board will be searching for a replacement and may need to hire an interim. Jordan was appointed to her post in August 2009.
The board also accepted high school French teacher Jonathan Lomaki’s resignation which was effective Aug. 27. He had been recalled to the position earlier in the month.
The board voted to table reinstating grave level leader positions for pre-K through sixth grade. Board member Kevin Peretta questioned if their contracts included a memorandum of understanding.
Jennifer Gray had been recommended as pre-K grade level leader, Lisa Burlingame for kindergarten, Jacqueline Siddon for grade one, Dee Cook for grade two, Kimberlie Scott for grade three, Diane Toth for grade four, Melisa Denney for grade five, and William Lint for grade six.
The Link Crew program will continue into next year, the board said. It matches incoming freshmen with juniors and seniors to make their early days of high school easier. Peretta voted against the motion.
