MASSENA -- The Board of Education has accepted several donations from two businesses and a booster group.
JC Penney donated 100 backpacks, which were split among Jefferson, Madison and Nightengale elementary schools.
Friends of Jefferson Elementary School donated $806.83 for carpets in Paige Arced and Jessica Smith’s classrooms.
Seacomm Federal Credit Union gave $500 for the Where Everyone Belongs (WEB) program. It will pay for shirts supplied to program leaders.
“I’d like to say thank you for the three donations … very generous from our friends outside the district,” board president Pat Bronchetti said during the Sept. 21 meeting.
