MASSENA — The Board of Education voted on Wednesday to accept several thousand dollars in donations, including one that with a district match will buy two pianos for elementary music students.
The Massena Music friends donated $2,564 for a Yamaha piano, which is being matched to buy a second instrument.
Other donations the district will receive include:
• $40 from Amici’s Restaurant for door prizes at a March cyberbullying presentation
• $20 from Price Chopper for door prizes at a March cyberbullying presentation
• $250 from Stewart’s for drinks and snacks at the cyberbullying presentation
• $25 from Stewart’s for door prizes at the presentation
• $20 fro Walmart for door prizes at the presentation
• $500 from Alcoa for implementing a recycle-reuse project, funded by the National Wildlife Foundation
