MASSENA -- A 54-year-old Massena resident is being held awaiting arraignment on allegations that he failed to register with the state sex offender registry when he moved to the area from Vermont.
Mark F. Broer of 22 North Allen Street was charged by Massena Village Police just before noon today.
He would be a level III offender under New York state law (high risk of a repeat offense and potential threat to public safety) and has been living at the address since August 31, according to Sgt. Adam Love.
He would not say more about Broer or his past crimes; Love said he is not cleared to release the information, only the chief or a lieutenant can do that and they have the day off for Columbus Day.
