MASSENA -- Massena residents will be able to apply for shares of up to $400,000 in Affordable Home Owner Development Program (AHODP) grant funds through the village’s Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Program.
The maximum amount of 400,000 allows for improvements of 12 units for an average of $33,000 each, Mayor Tim Currier said.
The grant will commence in January. More information including eligibility requirements, when and how applications will be accepted will be forthcoming in a few weeks, according to the mayor.
“This is wonderful news. We are working hard with assistance from the Development Authority of the North Country to expand our housing rehabilitation office to do as much as we can to improve living conditions and address blight,” Currier said.
