MASSENA -- Village police are searching for a state parolee who they say rammed a police cruiser early this morning.
Christopher Hebert, 42, is accused of intentionally colliding with a police cruiser when an officer tried to pull him over in his 2013 Ford pickup on Spruce Street around 3 a.m., according to Lt. Mark LaBrake.
"After the patrol car collision, he made it short distance and then fled on foot," LaBrake said.
He would not identify the officer behind the wheel, but said he wasn't injured and the car was damaged extensively.
Hebert is on post-release supervision from state prison. He had been serving time for a parole violation following a 2001 burglary conviction, LaBrake said. He added that Hebert was wanted by state parole officers prior to the alleged incident.
