MASSENA -- A Massena man is jailed without bail for allegedly stealing a wallet with a large sum of cash earlier in the month.
Christopher J. Kocienski, 42, of 166 Maple St. is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, police said.
He allegedly stole a wallet with $1,400 in it from Tammy Raleigh while the pair sat in a vehicle parked across from Kocienski’s home, Raleigh told police.
That allegedly happened Dec. 8 around 8 p.m., her statement says.
Kocienski was arraigned by Village Justice Eric Gustafson and remanded to the county jail, Canton, without bail because he is on parole.
State prison records say he is on parole for the remainder of a three-year sentence for two counts of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, which expires Feb. 9.
