School budgets for the Massena, Ogdensburg and Salmon River central school districts passed by overwhelming margins Tuesday.
In Massena, the $51,244,000 budget passed 433 to 94. It calls for a $14.25 million tax levy with district coffers holding a designated fund balance of about $2,500,000.
There is no increase to the tax levy.
Massena voters by a count of 438-88 authorized the Board of Education to establish a $4 million capital reserve fund to prepare for future building projects.
The voters also approved the school board to include a non-voting student member 408-121.
Incumbent board member Patrick Bronchetti received 379 votes for a new five-year term. Jason Premo was elected to a five-year seat with 349 votes. Incumbent William Somerfield was voted to a one-year term with 352 votes.
In Ogdensburg, voters approved a $42.8 million budget 174-52. The financial blueprint raises spending by $900,000, which is 2.15 percent more than last year. The tax levy will rise $107,862 which comes in just under the 1.12 percent state-imposed cap. They will use $2.2 million in fund balance to offset a tax increase.
Lawrence Mitchell and Laurie Zweifel ran unopposed and were re-elected to the Board of Education.
Salmon River Central’s budget passed 334-162. Voters approved a bus purchase 384-114.
Craig Jock was named to a five-year school board seat with 364 votes. Michael Sisto and Jordan Lauzon were each elected to two-year terms with respective tallies of 251 and 245.
School Business Executive Natascha Jock did not respond to a request for specifics on the spending plan and bus purchase.
