Massena and Ogdensburg are in the top 50 most-dangerous places in New York State, according to a California-based real estate brokerage’s blog.
The Village of Massena came in at number 30 and the City of Ogdensburg ranked at 33.
To read the list in its entirety, go here.
The blog used the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s 2013 Uniform Crime Report and calculated murder, violent crime, property crime and total crime per capita.
The rankings say no one was murdered in either place in 2013.
Massena, with a population of 10,808, saw 22 violent crimes, 410 property crimes and 432 overall crimes, the list says. That means someone in the village that year had a 1:25 chance of being the victim of any crime, the list says.

Ogdensburg, with a population of 11,702, saw 24 violent crimes, 419 property crimes and 443 overall crimes. That means someone in the village that year had a 1:26 chance of being the victim of any crime, the list says.
