Massena, Ogdensburg, Hermon residents charged with DWI following separate property-damage accidents

COLTON – A Massena man was charged with driving while intoxicated Thursday evening after state police said they received a report of a vehicle off the road at the intersection of State Highway 56 and State Route 68.

Troopers said they observed a 1996 Dodge Ram pickup off the west shoulder of the road into a snow bank at the location around 10:50 p.m.

There was no apparent damage to the vehicle and the operator was observed by witnesses leaving the scene.

Upon investigation troopers determined the operator to be 30-year-old Jeffrey P. Brown of Massena. He located at 89 Gulf Rd. and charged with DWI and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

His blood-alcohol-content was determined to be .11 percent, officers said.

He was also ticketed for improper right turn and is to appear in Colton Town Court Jan. 27 at 7 p.m.

CANTON -- An Ogdensburg resident was charged early Friday morning with aggravated driving while intoxicated after losing control of her 2005 Subaru Legacy and getting it stuck in a snow bank on U.S. Highway 11, according to state police.

Kelsey A. Bedford, 22, was charged with aggravated DWI after he blood-alcohol-content was determined to be .18 percent, troopers said. She also cited for failure to keep right, officers said.

She was released on appearance tickets returnable to Canton Town Court Jan. 7 at 1:30 p.m.

RUSSELL -- A Hermon woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after state police said they observed a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado stuck in a ditch off off County Route 17.

Michelle L. Hatch, 47 was charged around 10 p.m. with DWI after her blood-alcohol-content was determined to be .15 percent, troopers said.

She was also cited for having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and depositing refuse on a highway, officers said.

Hatch is to appear in Russell Town Court Jan. 5 at 7 p.m., police said.
