MASSENA—The Massena Music Friends organization hopes to raise $2,300 for new instruments for the Massena High School band program holding a guitar raffle over the next few weeks.
Thanks to a donation of an acoustic/electric guitar by Mainly Music of Massena, Massena Music Friends hopes to sell just 500 chances on the guitar. The drawing will be held Monday, June 11 at the annual June Rocks show at the high school auditorium.
The guitar is a Takamine EG440 with case. The instrument and case carry a retail value of $760. In addition, a second prize of $200, and a third prize of $100 will be awarded. Tickets are $5 each.
Proceeds will help pay for a new French horn and a new bassoon for the high school band program.
Tickets will be sold at many of the upcoming Spring concerts around the Massena School District.
Any supporter of the district’s music program who would like to purchase tickets or sell them on behalf of MMF, can contact Massena Music Friends interim officers, Pat Tubbs at 769-1982, or Paul Haggett at 769-9048.
