MASSENA -- Massena Memorial Hospital recently received more than $17,400 from Robert and Cynthia Elsner to upgrade to an iU22 ultrasound unit in medical imaging.
The upgrade will include software and medical equipment necessary to perform adult echocardiograms and expand the department’s capacity to provide diagnostic services.
The Elsners first contributed to Massena Memorial in 2006 with the establishment of the Employee Education Grant, which offers financial assistance to employees of Massena Memorial for advanced training or education.
“The Elsners believe in the importance of furthering education to better ones self. I hope those that were lucky enough to receive the assistance they provided appreciate the help but also pay it forward one day,” said Julia Rose, MMH Foundation executive director.
The Employee Education Grant fund has assisted seventeen employees of MMH with costs associated with advanced training over a six year period.
