MASSENA -- Tender Touches Birthing Center nurse Pam Marin is the Massena Memorial Hospital 2017 Nurse of Distinction.
Marin was recognized for her consistent care of patients, reliability, work as a team player and team leader at the hospital.
Marin was presented with a certificate and bouquet of flowers from hospital CEO Robert Wolleben and Chief Nursing Executive Ralene North, during the recent National Hospital and Nurses Week Kick-Off.
The annual Nurse of Distinction Award is presented to a member of the nursing staff who puts the needs of the patient first, is reliable and possesses a positive attitude.
Marin was nominated for her “compassionate and caring” ways, the ability to ensure all team members deliver patients’ the best care possible, and always going above and beyond for patients and other staff members.
Marin, who began her career at MMH in 1992, is the charge nurse in the maternity unit and also handles nursing duties in the emergency department, medical surgical pediatrics unit and nursing office as a nursing supervisor.
