MASSENA -- The Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation received a donation of children’s books from local Girl Scout Troop 50178. The girls used a portion of the proceeds generated from selling 8,000 boxes of cookies this spring to purchase new books and donated gently used books as well.
“Our pediatric inpatients will love the option of reading a book while staying at Massena Memorial. Having mom or dad read to them will hopefully make the kids more at ease and comfortable” noted Julia Rose, MMH Foundation executive director.
The Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation is a separate 501c3 organization charged with fundraising for the hospital. Its mission is to enhance patient comfort and care. For more information on the MMH Foundation call 769-4602 or www.mmhfoundation.net.
