MASSENA -- A Massena man says he plans to release a film late this year about a man and his ordinary life in Massena and the frustrations of never moving away from his hometown.
John Michaud says he is creating "Trapped in Massena," a story about John Daniel and his documentation of the town's growing problems.
The two-hour film is scheduled to be released in December.
In describing the film, Michaud said the main character tries to save the First Baptist Church, works at a cemetery as a gravedigger and dumpster dives for survival. He saves up money for a new life in Tennessee, but things do not go as planned and he ends up stuck in Massena. Along the way he meets new people away from Massena on YouTube and creates a fantasy world with other "Youtubers" away from his long-time home.
A Facebook page titled "Trapped in Massena Documentary Film" has been created to provide updates on the film and can be viewed here.
