POTSDAM -- A Massena man escaped injury following a Wednesday night rollover accident, according to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
Daniel LaPrade, 67, was driving a 2005 Jeep sport utility vehicle northbound on state Route 56 in Potsdam near the railroad crossing when a deer ran in front of him and he pulled to the left to miss it, deputies said. His car left the road on the west shoulder and rolled onto its side before coming to a rest. LaPrade was the vehicle's sole occupant.
Deputies, who were dispatched at 7:10 p.m., said he wasn't injured and refused medical treatment.
He was not ticketed and no charges are pending, the sheriff's office.
