MASSENA -- A Massena man was jailed on Wednesday after being charged with smashing up another person’s truck with a baseball bat earlier in the month.

Tyler E. Provost, 19, of 500A Old State Rte. 11, Canton is charged with a felony count of third-degree criminal mischief.

Court documents say on May 3 around 2:30 a.m., he took a baseball bat to Allen Martin’s 2012 Dodge pickup truck, causing $1,890 worth of damage.

The two had been involved in a dispute on Maple Street.

Provost was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric Gustafson and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton in lieu of $1,500 bail or $3,000 bond.
