NORFOLK -- A Massena man is jailed after he allegedly assaulted another man with a piece of lumber on Sunday.
Joseph B. McMahon, 24, is charged with felony second-degree assault and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal mischief, according to New York State Police.
On Aug. 9 on Grantville Road, McMahon struck 35-year-old Matthew Howard of Norfolk with a piece of lumber.
This occurred during an argument, possibly over past drug activity, according to state police Troop B Public Information Officer Tpr. Kyle Otis.
No significant injuries were reported, Otis said.
McMahon was arraigned in Norfolk Town Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton in lieu of $1,500 bail or $3,000 bond, troopers said.
He is to reappear on Aug. 19 at 10 a.m., police said.
