MASSENA -- Village police say a Massena man was charged early on Sunday morning with a drug felony while riding a bicycle.
Cory M. Shampine, 39, of Parker Avenue, Massena was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and a traffic infraction for inadequate headlights on a bicycle, police said.
Police say they stopped him at 3:42 a.m. while riding the bike down Parker Avenue and allegedly found him with a felony quantity of crack cocaine and a crack smoking device, police said.
Shampine was arraigned in Massena court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $1,000 bail or $2,000 bond, police said.
