MASSENA -- A village resident was charged with two felonies for allegedly stealing and using his ex-girlfriend’s debit card, according to village police.

Robert C Douglas II, 34, of 14 East Ave. is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both felonies, police said.

In September, he stole a North Country Savings Bank debit card belonging to Nicole Beauchamp, his ex-paramour, according to court documents.

He allegedly used it to make a total of $630 in withdrawals and purchases, court documents state.

Douglas was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric Gustafson and released under supervision of the county Probation Department, police said.

On Sept. 30, Douglas was charged in an unrelated incident with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and trespass.

Court documents state that officers spotted him in a backyard at 30 Beach St. and allegedly did not have the property owner's permission to be there.

Police asked Douglas why he was there and he gave conflicting stories about his reason for being at the property. He initially said he was there to see “Scott,” then later said he was there to see “Mike,” court documents state.

He was later found with three grams of cocaine in his pocket, according to court documents.

Douglas was arraigned on those charges by Massena Town Justice Gerald Sharlow and released under probationary supervision.
