LOUISVILLE -- A Massena man faces multiple charges including aggravated driving while intoxicated after being stopped Thursday night with a blood alcohol conent three times greater than the threshold for DWI.

State police say Ricky L. Brainard, 52, had a blood-alcohol level of .27 percent after he stopped along Rt. 37 at Rt. 37C at about 10:30 p.m. That is more than three times the legal limit of .08 percent.

Brainard was charged with felony DWI with two convictions in the previous 10 years, a felony count of first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and charges of having no registration and stopping on pavement. Troopers said his license had already been revoked.

Brainard was arraigned in the Town of Louisville and remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail without bail to re-appear in court on July 26.
