MASSENA -- A 65-year-old Massena man faces 22 counts of animal cruelty after he allegedly neglected horses, Massena-based state police said.
Parick O'Neill, 65, was charged with 22 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty after troopers executed a search warrant Thursday.
Troopers said 22 horses were not properly cared for and one had to be removed from the scene.
Troopers were assisted by the Massena Humane Society.
All of the animals were examined by a local veterinarian, police said.
O'Neill was arraigned in Massena Town Court and was released on his own recognizance.
Troopers said the investigation is ongoing.
