MASSENA -- Village police say a man who was being booked on a felony drug charge allegedly tried to hide a crack pipe in the police station while being processed.
Matthew A. Douillett, 25, of East Orvis Street was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, at 12:54 a.m. Saturday.
Police say he was charged with the felony following a traffic stop on West Orvis Street. Officers allegedly discovered four 8-milligram Suboxone strips under the passenger seat of the vehicle.
While being booked at the village police station, Douillett allegedly tried to hide a crack pipe under a chair in the dispatch area, police said.
He was arraigned in Massena court by judge Eric Gustafson and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond, police said.
