MASSENA -- Village police have charged a Massena man with larcenies from numerous vehicles around the village.

Police said White is charged with thefts of miscellaneous items from unlocked vehicles in six instances. There are about a dozen more similar cases still open, and White is believed to be a suspect “in the bulk of our larcenies” from vehicles, Sgt. Mark Englert said.

White was charged with trespass for going onto private property and stealing a bike from Pratt Place. The burglary count stems from going onto a Liberty Avenue enclosed porch and stealing about $4 in bottles, police said.

He was charged at 10:22 p.m. Wednesday on Somerset Avenue, police said.

Chief Adam Love said investigators have recovered property they believe was stolen by White.

He wants people who have had property stolen to come to the Massena Police Department around 7 p.m. Thursday night and ask to speak with Sgt. Ian Vanier.

“We’d like to get the property back to the owners, and possibly charge this individual with more larcenies,” Love said.

Anyone who needs more information can call the police department at (315)769-3577.
