MASSENA -- A Massena man is charged with a felony for allegedly attacking another man with a beer bottle at Nadeau’s Tavern.
Douglas E. Larose, 34, of 7 Richards St. is charged with second-degree assault, village police said.
According to court documents, Larose struck Kenneth Newstead with the bottle around 1:30 p.m. June 14.
The alleged victim and his fiancée, Kathryn Dobbins, each told police that Newstead stepped in after Larose and Dobbins engaged in an argument and Larose became aggressive, and this is when he was allegedly struck with the bottle.
The injury required four stitches, Newstead told police.
Larose was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald Sharlow and released under supervision of the St. Lawrence County Probation Department, pending a future appearance.
