MASSENA -- A Massena man was charged with a felony after damaging his daughter’s mother’s car during a Wednesday altercation on Cook Street.
Kevin S. Hughes, 24, of 96 Cook St. is facing one count of third-degree criminal mischief.
According to a statement from Brittany L. Clare, she and Hughes had argued over who would watch their daughter that day. She told police that he left from where they had argued and was walking home down Cook Street. She told police she was driving her vehicle and approached him and he became upset and kicked the front doors, causing upwards of $250 worth of damage.
$250 is the threshold for where misdemeanor criminal mischief is elevated to a felony.
