MASSENA -- A Massena man was charged with driving more than three times the legal limit of alcohol early Saturday morning, according to state police.

Christopher R. LeFrancois, 42, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle and insufficient tail lamps, officers said.

Troopers say they conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Chrysler minivan on South Raquette River Road around 12:30 a.m. and discovered that LeFrancois was allegedly under the influence.

His blood alcohol content was determined to be .29 percent. He was found in possession of about 1.5 grams of marijuana.

LeFrancois is to appear in the Massena Village Court on September 2, 2014, at 1:30 p.m.
